Colin Tenaglia works with individuals, families, and business owners on the tax side of the decisions they are already making. His focus is the full picture: how tax, business activity, and long-term plans connect, and how to bring structure and clarity to that whole so clients can move forward with confidence.

As an Enrolled Agent he represents taxpayers before the IRS — notices, examinations, collection matters, and prior-year cleanup — and prepares individual and business returns alongside the planning that should have come first.

Where investments are involved, the work is the tax analysis rather than the advice: basis and holding periods, the tax cost of a sale, which account a decision runs through, and how the timing of income lands against brackets, the taxation of Social Security, and Medicare premiums. He treats tax efficiency as a structural decision, not a year-end cleanup. He does not manage money, sell products, or recommend securities.

He places a strong emphasis on transparency and education. Tax work often feels unclear or unnecessarily complicated. Colin takes the opposite tack: clients should understand what is being done and why, and leave conversations better equipped to make their own decisions over time.

Before joining Tenaglia & Associates, Colin spent more than a decade in operations, process engineering, and risk management — a Lean Six Sigma background in process safety. That training shapes how he works today: disciplined, data-driven, and skeptical of methods that look clean on paper but break down in practice. More recently, his graduate work in artificial intelligence and machine learning brought modern analytical tools into the same workflow — used to test assumptions, not to replace judgment.

Colin works on tax planning, tax preparation, IRS representation, and business advisory for clients across the country — Texas, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and the Carolinas among them — run out of the Wisconsin and Texas offices. He is focused on building long-term relationships through consistent, clear, and dependable work.
